Fi-Buoy will provide a constant input of ‘background’ chlorination over a period of several weeks. It acts in the top few centimetres of pool water where pollution is greatest to minimise the risk of bacterial and algal infection.
Ideal for regular use in conjunction with other Fi-Clor chlorine sanitisers or for periods when the pool is not in use (eg when on holiday).

Instructions

• Adjust pH to 7.2-7.6 with Fi-Clor pH & Alkalinity Reducer or Fi-Clor pH Increaser as appropriate.
• For best results, treat pool with Superfast Shock at start of season.
• Allow 3-4 hours before bathing for unit to become fully effective in untreated pool.
• This unit is marked in gallon increments from 5000-40,000 gallons. Punch out all feeder holes on both sides of the cartridge from the 5000 gallon marking up to the marking corresponding to your size of pool. Round up if your pool is between sizes. Make sure the holes are large enough to allow a free flow of pool water into the unit.
• Punch out the vent holes on both sides of the Fi-Buoy
• Place the perforated cartridge in the deep end of the pool with narrow end downwards. Hold it partly immersed as illustrated on top of the unit to exclude air, and ensure there is free water flow through the cartridge. Never submerge the buoyancy compartment.
• Make sure the Fi-Buoy is floating vertically. Use eyelet on top of unit to anchor it away from the liner to avoid bleaching.
• Maintain free chlorine residual between 2-4 ppm. If too low, bore another hole on each side of the Fi-Buoy. If too high, seal one hole on each side with waterproof adhesive tape.
• When temporarily removing unit (e.g. if children are unsupervised), stand it in a plastic bucket of cold water free from contamination from other chemicals. To resume treatment, replace unit in deep end and empty bucket contents into pool.
• Cartridge floats on its side when empty. Replace with another Fi-Buoy; the unit is not designed to be refilled.
